MCPD Respond to Incident Involving Barricaded Person Thursday Afternoon; No Threat to Community

Montgomery County Police responded to the 11800 block of Morningstar Drive in Germantown (near Clarksburg), for a barricaded person on Thursday afternoon, according to a tweet by MCPD. The adult male has been taken into custody, and there is no threat to the community. We will post an update if additional information becomes available.
Clarksburg High School sent a message to the Clarksburg school’s community around 2pm regarding the incident:
“Dear Clarksburg High School Students, Staff, Families and Caregivers,
We have been alerted to ongoing police activity in the area of Morning Star Drive and Canterfield Way in Clarksburg. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) have alerted me that this area will be closed temporarily to the public. As of right now this may affect students walking or taking transportation to that area. If your student lives or may be traveling to the affected area, please contact Clarksburg High School at 240-740-6000 to arrange alternate methods so students may arrive home safely. Once additional information is available from MCPD, we will share it with you.”
