MCDOT held its second Paint the Plow Middle School Snowplow Naming Contest this past May, in honor of “Public Works Week.” There were 14 entries from local middle school students with three winners chosen for a first, second and third place cash prize for the school’s art program.

The Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) 2.0 Facility Plan will reimagine Montgomery County’s most popular paved trail. This planning project will include an existing conditions analysis that will survey and identify the location of signage, natural resources, amenities, areas of disturbance, ADA accessibility issues, and more.
Yesterday, the National Weather Service (NWS) increased chances of a storm to an “Enhanced Winter Storm Threat” for Saturday January 6th into Sunday, January 7th for much of the DC Metro area, including half of Montgomery County, Loudoun County, half of Howard County, Frederick County and more. The threat remains in the latest update from the NWS now that we are five days out.
