Washington Redskins football legend Joe Jacoby is once again a step closer to Canton. The longtime left tackle was officially named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026, joining a group of standout players that includes Ken Anderson (Bengals), Roger Craig (49ers), Henry Ellard (Rams), L.C. Greenwood (Steelers), Eddie Meador (Rams), Stanley Morgan (Patriots), Steve Tasker (Bills), and Otis Taylor (Chiefs).

Join Us for StoryBox Comics Fair, a two-day festival celebrating local and independent comics authors!

Day 1 – Saturday, June 27th, 11-5pm @ DwightMess compound (805 Silver Spring Ave): Events are open to the public, admission is FREE. Featuring Special Guest Artists, gallery exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, a modeling session (suggested donation) and exhibitors, you can dig in to indie comics and also tour the compound, which features an extensive comics collection, a rare video collection, Risograph and screenprinting studios.


MoCo Government

Montgomery County’s FY25 procurement reports show a record $274 million awarded to certified Minority, Female, and Disabled-owned businesses, representing 21.21% of eligible spending, and $133 million awarded to Local Small Business Reserve Program vendors, or 33.7% of eligible spending, the highest share since the program began.

MCDOT

MCDOT will hold a public forum on Monday, Dec. 8 at White Oak Middle School to present the proposed Ride On Flex Route 918 and gather community feedback. The new on-demand route would serve several northeast Montgomery County communities during peak periods, and residents can submit written or oral testimony through mid-December.
