DC Sports

Up-and-coming country star Luke Borchelt is proudly representing Maryland, and the Washington Commanders. Earlier this week, Borchelt shared an Instagram post from Monday Night Football, where he stood on the field in a Commanders jersey during the team’s game against the Chicago Bears. His caption read: “Real Maryland Boys are Commanders Fans.”

Beyond MoCo

The Frederick community is coming together to support one of its own, Jacob, affectionately known as “the oven guy” at dōp pizza. Jacob has long been considered the heart of the restaurant’s operation, known for his dedication behind the pizza oven, first on the original trailer setup and now at the RAK Yard kitchen.

In August, we let you know that Marlo Furniture will be closing all six of its locations permanently. An official closing date has not been set yet, but a representative at the Rockville location shared that the store will “definitely be closing by the end of the year.”

Bethesda

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad invites everyone to its annual Rescue Day (Fall Open House and Family Fun Day), this Saturday, October 18, from 11:00am through 4:00pm. Their Rescue Day will once again be held at at the corner of Battery Lane and Old Georgetown Road.

Visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy activities including inflatable axe throwing, engaging safety demonstrations, and a variety of food trucks.
