Pittsburgh Mayor-Elect Corey O’Connor has announced his intention to nominate Jason Lando to serve as the next Chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police (PBP). A Pittsburgh native, Lando is a 21-year veteran of the bureau and has served as Chief of the Frederick Police Department in Maryland since 2021.

A Germantown man won a $50,000 top prize in the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 drawing on October 30, years after missing out on a previous win when he forgot to play his usual numbers. He purchased the winning ticket at Kingsview Beer and Wine in Germantown, which will receive a $500 bonus, and plans to use part of his winnings toward a future trip to Italy with his wife.
