Six people, including Toyia Johnson of Rockville, were found guilty in connection with a 2021 Labor Day weekend triple homicide in Washington, D.C., that left three people dead and three others injured. A jury convicted four defendants of murder and related charges, while Johnson and another individual were found guilty of tampering with evidence and acting as accessories after the fact. (more…)


MDOT

Due to ongoing Purple Line construction, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has implemented detours for Ride On bus routes 12, 13, and 19 in Silver Spring, with updated routing and temporary stops in place through at least August 2025.

Law

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown joined 12 other attorneys general in urging the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to uphold a preliminary injunction preventing the Trump Administration from enforcing a federal prison policy that would bar transgender women from being housed in women’s facilities.
