Residents across the county have reported receiving a fraudulent text claiming to be from the “Maryland State Department of Motor Vehicles” and demanding immediate payment. This agency does not exist, as it is called the Maryland Motor Vehicles Administration in Maryland, and the agency would not communicate with you via text.

Green Bamboo Asian Bistro, located at 5751 Fishers Ln. in Rockville, MD, has permanently closed its doors. Known for its relaxed, family-run ambiance, the bistro delighted diners with an array of Japanese, Chinese, and Thai dishes. In the summer of 2019, we announced that Bear Brick Oven Pizza would take over the old Greek Islands Grill location on New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly. After delays due to COVID, the restaurant finally opened its doors in April 2021. Now, owner George “Bear” Jarrell has informed us that his tenure will end on June 29, with the restaurant’s future remaining uncertain.
