The National Weather Service (NWS) Climate Prediction Center in College Park, MD has put out a ‘slight risk’ for heavy snow (20-40% chance) for the Mid-Atlantic, including all of Maryland.
The 2025 Oceans Calling Festival will take place on the Ocean City Boardwalk from September 26-28. The three day music and art festival is being put together in partnership with Rockville natives O.A.R, who will also be performing several sets at the event. (more…)

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott have filed a lawsuit against Glock, Inc., alleging the company facilitates the spread of illegal machine guns in Maryland by selling pistols that can easily be modified with “Glock switches.” The lawsuit, the first under Maryland’s new Gun Industry Accountability Act, seeks to halt sales of these firearms, citing their role in escalating gun violence, particularly among Baltimore’s youth. A Maryland man was cited on February 10 after TSA officers at Reagan National Airport discovered a loaded 9mm handgun in his carry-on bag, leading to the weapon’s confiscation and a criminal citation.

Montgomery County government has introduced Bill 3-25 to expand eligibility for the County’s Supplement to the Homeowners Property Tax Credit (HOTC), increasing the income limit from $60,000 to $75,000 and the net worth cap from $200,000 to $250,000. The bill also raises the assessed home value eligible for the credit from $300,000 to $375,000, providing targeted relief to lower-income homeowners and seniors on fixed incomes.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) shared that they responded to more than 150 calls for service in a four-hour period on Tuesday evening/night.
Montgomery County government has introduced Bill 6-25, led by Councilmember Kristin Mink and co-sponsored by Council Vice President Will Jawando, Council President Kate Stewart, and Councilmember Dawn Luedtke, to strengthen consumer protections for renters by removing exemptions for landlord-tenant issues under consumer protection law.
