Gaithersburg

The City of Gaithersburg’s Community Services Division is one of nine local community partners that together were awarded an Engaging Neighborhoods, Organizations, Unions, Governments, and Households (ENOUGH) grant from the Maryland Governor’s Office for Children. The innovative initiative funds a community-based strategy to address child poverty in Maryland.

Restaurants

J&J Mex-Taqueria opened in Mount Rainer (DC) almost a decade ago. The restaurant has since opened a second DC location on Georgia Avenue in the Brightwood neighborhood and earlier this year made the move into Maryland at Le Fantome food hall in Riverdale Park (Prince George’s County). Now, the restaurant has opened a second Maryland location in Silver Spring’s Solaire Social (Montgomery County).

Maryland’s Employee Benefits Division is reminding Medicare-eligible State retirees and their dependents to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan through Via Benefits by December 31, 2024, as the current State-provided prescription drug plan will end, and enrollment is required to maintain coverage and access financial assistance starting January 1, 2025.
