Fox 5 is the first of the four major local networks to release its 2024/2025 Winter Outlook. Fox had one of the more conservative outlooks last year in a year when most expected above average snowfall. This year, Fox 5 meteorologist Mike Thomas is taking a similar approach in a year where not much snow is expected, which isn’t great news for snow lovers. As always, we take a quick look at the outlook and provide an analysis before comparing all four major network outlooks when they become available.

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the peripheral responsible for setting a fire at a Gaithersburg park last month.
The City of Takoma Park Recreation Department will host its traditional Monster Bash on Saturday, October 26th.
General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.
In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.
Charley Prime Foods, at 9811 Washington Blvd in Gaithersburg’s Rio has reopened after an equipment issue in its kitchen forced the restaurant to close over the weekend. (more…)

Back in June we let you know that MCPS planned to make the move away from requiring employees to fill out physical timesheets and leave request forms during thie 2024/2024school year, and the school system confirmed in its Staff Bulletin that it will be launching Hub+ this December to make that happen.
ZiZa Kabob, which opened its first restaurant at 7351 Assateague Dr. in Jessup, has signed on to open its second location in the Twinbrook Quarter development that will feature the upcoming Wegmans in Rockville. ZiZa is associated with Baltimore’s Maiwand Grill and Kabul Grill.
