Back in May we let you know that Dirty Dough is coming to 36B Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square. The cookie shop will be taking over the location that was the longtime home of Berry Cup, which closed in the summer of 2022. Dirty Dough made an appearance as a vendor at Rockville Town Square’s tree lighting event and let us know at they are aiming for a Wednesday, December 18th opening.

The Maryland Home Builder Guaranty Fund, administered by Attorney General Anthony G. Brown’s Consumer Protection Division, paid over $1.4 million to buyers of new homes over the past five years to address losses caused by registered home builders, including incomplete construction and failure to meet standards. While the 2025 opening timeframe has been in the plans for Wegmans upcoming Rockville location, including signage at the upcoming location, the grocery store officially announced that Rockville will be one of three new Wegmans stores opening in 2025 and May have given a clue as to when in 2025 we can expect it.

Announcement

On August 22, the New Neighbor Interfaith Alliance (NNIA) will host the 2026 Set Them Up for Success Volleyball Tournament and Family Fun Day from 9 am-4 pm at the Interdenominational Church of God in Gaithersburg, gathering volleyball teams, faith community members, and the public to raise funds to help recent refugees in Montgomery County attain independence.

An interfaith non-profit alliance of 37 faith communities and civic groups, NNIA raises funds to help resettled refugees with rental assistance, deferred medical care, English language skills and job placement. They also hope to expand their volunteer numbers to help more beneficiaries with job assistance, reliable transportation, and mentoring.

College Park Day is on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm at the College Park Aviation Museum and Airport!This annual festival has free activities and entertainment for all ages.

This year includes three live music and performance stages! Dance and sing along to an exciting lineup of local bands!

Taylor Momsen is widely recognized for her roles as Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl, but did you know she grew up in Potomac? She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Bethesda for her elementary education and later moved on to Hoover Middle School.

Business

Last month we let you know that the office building at 121 Rockville Pike was being auctioned off by Ten-X later this month with a starting bid of $6 million. The building was previously home to Choice Hotels headquarters prior to the company’s move to Pike & Rose earlier this year, and the winning bid came in at $10.75 million ($10.965 million with transactions fees), according to Maryland Newsletters.
