Postal Worker Robbed in Potomac, $50,000 Reward Offered for Information Leading to Arrest

US Postal Inspectors from the Washington Division and the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating an incident where a USPS mail carrier was robbed at gun point on Thursday, October 20, around 11:30am in the 7600blk of Coddle Harbor Ln in Potomac.  Per the United States Postal Inspection Service:

“A USPS Letter Carrier was in the process of delivering mail when she was approached by the suspect who demanded USPS property while displaying a firearm concealed within his waistband area. After obtaining USPS property, the suspect fled the location.  The Letter Carrier was NOT harmed.
The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Late 20’s – early 30’s in age
  • Approximately 5’8 in height
  • Wearing light blue denim jeans, blue sweatshirt, black and white sneakers
  • Possibly a black skull cap covering long hair

This is investigation is still in the preliminary stages. We are requesting that anyone with information regarding this incident contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455. Callers may remain anonymous, and a reward is being offered up to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.”
