Residential Street Sweeping Begins Across The County

by MCS Staff

The 2022 street sweeping schedule for residential sweeping routes has been released. This annual program is designed to ensure clean and environmentally friendly neighborhood streets. Residential sweeping begins every spring and typically ends in early July.

The 2022 Residential Sweeping Program started on April 6. In 2021, crews swept over 4,100 miles of roads in residential neighborhoods and removed over 1,200 tons of debris from our streets.

Please note that “No Parking” signs will be posted in most sweeping neighborhoods. Not every pole or every street will have one. Cars will not be towed for the sweeping program. However, sweeping trucks cannot return to re-sweep areas where cars were parked.

Note: The Town of Poolesville will be conducting street sweeping operations on Tuesday April 12. Please refrain from parking in the street.

An accessible Street Sweeping application for persons with visual disabilities is provided on this page.

To check the schedule for your neighborhood, please type your address into the box in this link. Then, click on the colored area of the map. The anticipated sweep dates will pop up. Those dates are approximate and can be affected by weather, amount of debris collected, equipment availability and other variables.
