Sometime between the late 1970s to early 1980s, Ocean City officials installed a sign marking the eastern termination of US 50, proudly displaying the distance to Sacramento (3,073 miles) as a nod to the highway’s distant beginning on the West Coast.

Two juveniles were arrested in Gaithersburg after allegedly burglarizing a gun store in Springfield, VA, where they used a vehicle to ram the entrance and steal multiple firearms before fleeing into Maryland. Montgomery County Police, with assistance from Fairfax County detectives and Gaithersburg Police, apprehended the suspects, recovered multiple stolen firearms, and continue to search for a third suspect.
