On Saturday morning, Dublin Roasters Coffee, located at 1780 N Market St, Ste C in Frederick, addressed a concerning incident that occurred earlier in the week in their outdoor tent area. A small child was attacked by a leashed dog that broke free from its owner. The café expressed deep concern for all those involved, including the child and their family, the dog owner, witnesses, and the staff members who were present.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced the sentencing of Tavonia Stackhouse and Monica Brown for financially exploiting a vulnerable adult at Rescuing Hearts Assisted Living Facility in Baltimore City. Stackhouse was sentenced to 60 days in jail and restitution of $25,291.80, while Brown received time served, restitution of $3,000, and 100 hours of community service, with both defendants barred from providing care for vulnerable adults or participating in federally funded health programs.

A Silver Spring man was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for his role in an armed robbery at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C., after pleading guilty to brandishing a firearm during the crime. Law enforcement later arrested him at his residence, where they recovered multiple firearms, ammunition, and marijuana intended for distribution. (more…)

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that a Baltimore County Grand Jury has issued a third indictment against Michael C. Okolo, 68, of Parkville, Maryland, for allegedly misusing $100,000 intended for a real estate investment. Okolo, previously indicted for theft and insurance fraud, is accused of misappropriating client funds for personal and business expenses, with trials scheduled for June 12, 2025, and an initial court appearance for the latest case set for April 14, 2025.
