In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before judge Marielsa Bernard, a jury has found defendants, Callen Baker, 20, of Jefferson, MD, and Zachary Ciccantelli, 24, of Rockville, MD, guilty on charges related to a shootout on Monroe Street in Rockville on March 1, 2023. The jury returned a guilty verdict on 18 counts of first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence and reckless endangerment.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that officers at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport intercepted a loaded handgun on Sunday, May 26, that was in possession of a retail shop employee who works at the airport. (more…)

The Community is rallying around the family of Quincy Johnson of Takoma Park and D’Andre Wint of Laurel man who were shot and killed in a double homicide that occurred on Sunday, May 26, 2024 near Nolte Local Park in Silver Spring.

10:55pm Update: This incident is being investigated as a homicide. According to police, “At approximately 6:57 p.m. Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District and Maryland – National Capital Park Police officers responded to the 500 block of Thayer Ave. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two 20-year-old males dead at the scene. There are no suspects in custody at this time. This is an active and ongoing investigation.” We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
