A federal jury has convicted a Montgomery County man on a cyberstalking charge following a two-week trial, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

Jose Ulises Aguilar-Martinez, 23, pleaded guilty today to six charges connected to the July 2024 carjacking that killed 54-year-old Melody Waldecker of Silver Spring. The plea was entered in Loudoun County Circuit Court, just weeks before a jury trial was set to begin on January 5.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on November 1, 2025, along the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring.
