Chris Carmack’s roots in Montgomery County run deep. Growing up in Derwood, MD, and graduating from Magruder in the late ‘90s, Chris was immersed in the local spirit and community from an early age. While he once played baseball, basketball, and football, his passion eventually shifted to theater. Active in his school’s drama program, he participated in multiple productions each year and competed at various drama festivals– a foundation that would later pave the way for his acting career and now his social media stardom.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) at 7315 Muncaster Mill Rd. in Derwood has fully restored air conditioning following a mechanical failure that caused rising temperatures inside its near-capacity facility. The issue, caused by a failed motor in the building’s cooling system, was resolved by the Department of General Services (DGS). With the system now fully operational, the shelter has ended its emergency response efforts and resumed normal operations. (more…)

Brown’s Consumer Protection Division issued a Final Order requiring Optimum Construction, Optimum Interiors, and their owner Amr “Omar” Elrahimy to pay over $4.4 million in restitution and penalties for failing to complete home improvement projects after collecting payments from Maryland consumers. Redland Middle School in Derwood won first place in Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s “Paint the Plow” contest with a transportation-themed design titled “Life is a Highway,” part of Public Works Week recognizing the contributions of public works employees.
