ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter has reported that the Washington Commanders and Northwest Federal Credit Union are “announcing an exclusive naming-rights agreement for the team’s stadium. The team will usher in a new era at Northwest Stadium for its Sept. 15th home opener against the New York Giants.”

The 53-man roster cut deadline is on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 4pm. By then, all 32 teams must trim their roster from 90 to 53 players and The Commanders have just finished their final preseason game of the year. In a statement to the public, shared by Ben Standig on X, the Washington Commanders have made the decision to remove the Sean Taylor installation that they unveiled in November 2022. It was widely regarded as a disappointing tribute to the late player since its introduction and the team will work on a replacement plan that will “rightfully celebrate the legacy and impact that Sean had on our organization, fanbase and community.” Full statement by the team and Jackie Taylor, Sean Taylor’s daughter, below:

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced that 26-year-old Adela Beatriz Orellana, of Hyattsville, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft for stealing the contents of UPS packages she accepted, while employed at UPS and selling the stolen contents at local pawn shops.
