Burtonsville bid farewell to its 7-Eleven, located at 15585 Old Columbia Pike, this past spring. The building is set to be demolished as part of the plans for Wawa to open its second Montgomery County location on the current site of 7-Eleven and the adjacent Mattress and More Liquidators (15595 Old Columbia Pike). A representative from Mattress and More Liquidators shared with us that the store is expected to close in October.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will offer low-cost adult bike classes this fall, including 11 Learn to Ride sessions, one Basic Skills class, and two free walk-up e-scooter classes, with registration required and bicycles and helmets provided for participants.

A fatal head-on collision early Wednesday morning has closed a portion of westbound Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville. The Montgomery County Police Department issued a traffic advisory at 4:14 am, warning drivers to seek an alternate route and to expect significant delays.

A fatal head-on collision early Wednesday morning has closed a portion of westbound Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville. The Montgomery County Police Department issued a traffic advisory at 4:14 am, warning drivers to seek an alternate route and to expect significant delays.


Multiple illegal car rallies were broken up in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties early Saturday as part of a coordinated enforcement operation by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, resulting in three arrests, including a Silver Spring man charged with multiple traffic offenses.
