Per MCPS: “The Montgomery County Youth Equity Summit (YES) will bring together community organizations, equity partners and youth aged 11-21 to highlight systemic oppressive components in the urban landscape and provide resources in regard to career and creative opportunities.
Montgomery County Inspector General Megan Davey Limarzi sent the following memorandum to Montgomery County Board of Education President Karla Silvestre on Monday, January 8:
“The Greatest Night in Pop,” is an upcoming Netflix documentary (available to view on January 29th, trailer below) that revisits the moment when 46 of the biggest names in pop music, led by Michael Jackson, came together for a single night to record a song to raise money for African famine relief. The documentary is directed by Bao Nguyen, who was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD., and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 2001.
MCPS Schools are CODE BLUE for Tuesday, Jan. 9., due to expected dangerous weather conditions, including high winds and significant rainfall which may cause widespread flooding and power outages.
