The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns Friday, August 9th and will run through Saturday, August 17th at the fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. This will be the 75th annual fair and its fourth year back after having to cancel for the first time in its 70+ year history in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. Has Rockville/MoCo found a new venue for outdoor concerts? The City of Rockville’s Hometown Holidays Music Fest is in its second day today at RedGate Park (14500 Avery Road) in Rockville and fans are pouring in to catch a performance by alternative rock band Everclear, whose career spans four decades and many memorable hits.

Lisa Loeb was born in Bethesda and lived here for a couple years before moving to Dallas, TX where she was raised. 30 years ago, her career began with her number one single  “Stay (I Missed You)” from the film Reality Bites. It’s also the first Billboard number one single for an artist without a recording contract. Later in her career, Loeb achieved two additional top 20 singles with “Do You Sleep?” in 1996 and “I Do” in 1998. Her studio albums include two back-to-back albums that were certified gold: Tails and Firecracker.

Back in January, Bao Bei at 11910 Parklawn Dr #O in Rockville temporarily closed to participate in a reality TV food competition. It has now been revealed that Bao Bei will be featured in the upcoming 17th season of Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, premiering on June 30th.
