Gaithersburg’s free SummerFest celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 6 to 11 p.m. at Bohrer Park, featuring live music, food and craft beverages, family activities, a 9:20 p.m. fireworks show, and a SummerGlo After Party. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, follow safety guidelines, and plan ahead for traffic and parking; fireworks will be rescheduled to June 29 in case of inclement weather.

Burtonsville is bidding farewell to two local icons: Burt the Inflatable Mattress Man and the big red barn that has long been a part of the community’s landscape. This memorable send-off will be led by local personalities Alex Tsironis (Mr. MoCo) and Dave Golden of Burtonsville 2.0 on Facebook, who will host the event at the Mattress Liquidators and old 7-Eleven parking lot on Saturday, June 28th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The fourth annual DMV Veteran Shark Tank pitch competition will take place on June 12, at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, in honor of Women Veterans Appreciation Day. The event, presented by Prince George’s Community College and United Way of the National Capital Area, features three female veteran entrepreneurs competing for a $5,000 prize, along with mentorship and business support services.
