We are about two and an half weeks away from the return of the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, which kicks off on Friday, August 8 and runs through Saturday, August 16. Montgomery County has announced that the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will headline the free Silver Spring Jazz Festival on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Veterans Plaza. Royal Cut Kings, a well-known barbershop from Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, has opened its latest venture, Tapers & Tequila, located at 16821 Crabbs Branch Way in the Derwood/Gaithersburg/Rockville area.
The annual Drive for Supplies distribution event is set to take place at Parkland Middle School (4610 W Frankfort Dr. Rockville, MD) on Thursday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last. This event offers families the opportunity to pick up new and gently used school supplies.
The supplies have been collected and donated by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students and staff as they cleaned out lockers, desks, and closets at the end of the school year. The event is hosted by the Division of Sustainability and Compliance.
