Peter Chang Restaurant opened at 637 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg last April, taking over the location that was occupied by Ichiban since 1985 (Ichiban closed in September 2021 after 35 years in business.) The restaurant, along with another new Peter Chang outpost (NiHao in Crystal City), were recently reviewed by Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema.
As the county began to expand further north, Ichiban restaurant was ahead of the game– opening at what would later become a busy stretch of rt. 355 (637 N Frederick Ave) in Gaithersburg back in 1985. The restaurant survived for more than 35 years before closing in September 2021, but some of its most popular dishes can still be found nearby.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a dirt bike and a car on Saturday, July 6, in Gaithersburg.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident occurred at approximately 9:15pm at the intersection of Snouffer School Rd. and Centerway Rd. One patient was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
