Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Friday, December 19, in Silver Spring, where 69-year-old Theresa “Terri” Winona Nagle was struck by a 2017 Toyota Corolla while crossing the roadway and later died at a hospital. Detectives are also asking for the public’s help in locating Nagle’s next of kin as the investigation continues. (more…)
Members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force conducted enforcement operations from December 17 to 20, making 239 traffic stops and issuing hundreds of citations, warnings, and repair orders. During that period, task force officers arrested 22 people for DUI, made one additional criminal arrest, and conducted breath tests and DRE evaluations, with officials noting that the total number of DUI arrests countywide is higher when patrol officer arrests are included. A Montgomery County Circuit Court judge sentenced Ervin Alfaro-Lopez, 34, of Germantown, to 55 years in prison, with all but 20 years suspended, after he pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor and three counts of third-degree sex offense.
