Brian Fleury, a 1997 state championship winning quarterback at Seneca Valley, has been promoted be head coach Kyle Shanahan to running game coordinator in addition to his duties as the team’s tight end coach. Fleury to has gone to two Super Bowls as a member of the 49ers coaching staff.

Montgomery County’s very own Mckinley Jovanovic is a force to be reckoned with both on the wrestling mat and in the classroom. A proud product of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Mckinley began wrestling in her sophomore year and quickly rose to prominence– earning accolades as a men’s varsity starter, team captain, and multiple championship titles. Her roots in Montgomery County not only anchor her identity but also connect her to a legacy of athletic excellence in the region.

Keanu Carver has made a significant impact on WWE’s Evolve series. Born Kevin Isaiah Robertson, he hails from Montgomery County, having been born in Silver Spring and raised in Takoma Park. A graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, Carver played college football as a defensive tackle for the Temple Owls from 2019 to 2021.

Germantown native Brandon Murray, who attended and played middle school basketball at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Germantown, led his team in scoring today as 12th-seeded McNeese State pulled off a stunning upset against 5th-seeded Clemson in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Mack Hollins, a native of Montgomery County, MD, is continuing his stellar NFL career as he signs a two-year contract worth $8.4 million with the New England Patriots.
