The Montgomery County Council has approved a zoning measure allowing more residential building types such as duplexes, triplexes, townhouses, and small apartment buildings up to 40 feet tall along designated corridors. Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-02, part of the More Housing NOW initiative led by Councilmembers Andrew Friedson and Natali Fani-González, aims to expand housing options and affordability for working residents. The legislation permits the construction of townhomes, duplexes, triplexes, and small apartment buildings on land currently zoned for single-family homes.  (more…)
