The Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland announced that the Town of Poolesville was one of 17 Maryland municipalities honored at the Sustainable Maryland Awards Ceremony at the Maryland Municipal League’s annual Fall Conference last month. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) are actively assisting in a search operation for a missing person presumed to have drowned in the Potomac River, in coordination with Frederick County authorities. The missing person is believed to have entered the water near Point of Rocks in Frederick County.
