The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing on February 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Beallsville and virtually, to gather comments on Chaberton Solar Sugarloaf I, LLC’s proposal to build a 4.0 MW solar facility in Dickerson, MD, with additional written comments accepted until February 7.

The Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland announced that the Town of Poolesville was one of 17 Maryland municipalities honored at the Sustainable Maryland Awards Ceremony at the Maryland Municipal League’s annual Fall Conference last month. The Town was certified at the Bronzelevel. Sustainable Poolesville Chairman Don Street pictured accepting the award.

At the beginning of this year, USA Today went on a mission to find the best new restaurants. To find them, the national newspaper asked a panel of food and travel experts to nominate their 20 favorite new restaurants that open led in the past year. Then, readers voted for their top picks to determine the winners. The Farmhouse Bistro at the Crossvines (16601 W Willard Rd, Poolesville, MD) made the list at #9 in the country. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) are actively assisting in a search operation for a missing person presumed to have drowned in the Potomac River, in coordination with Frederick County authorities. The missing person is believed to have entered the water near Point of Rocks in Frederick County.
