Last November, we reported that California Fish Grill, a chain with approximately 50 restaurants in California and Arizona, signed on for its first Maryland location at 12238 Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Towne Plaza. We recently let you know that the restaurant is aiming for a fall opening and now we know that a $650K permit was approved for interior construction of the restaurant.

Montgomery County will host a remembrance ceremony and candlelight vigil on Thursday, August 28, in Downtown Rockville to honor lives lost to overdose and raise awareness as part of International Overdose Awareness Day. The event, which includes a resource fair and candle lighting, precedes National Recovery Month in September and highlights the importance of compassion, support, and access to recovery resources.

While Hollywood draws talent from all over the world, Rockville, Maryland, can proudly claim actress Paula Marshall as one of its own. Born and raised in Rockville, Marshall’s local roots are a notable part of her story. A graduate of the now-closed Robert E. Peary High School, she is perhaps best known to a younger generation of viewers for her recent role as Marsha Jacobs, the mother of character Nate Jacobs, on the acclaimed HBO series, Euphoria.

A new Dunkin’ location is set to open at 4011 Norbeck Road in Rockville, taking over a space with a long history in the community. The coffee and donut chain will be moving into the space that was previously home to Sassy Cleaners for three decades, joining the shopping center that’s home to Angelo’s Deli and EATHAI (near Big Greek Cafe).
