The Dough Roller’s story began in 1980, when founder Bill Gibbs envisioned a family-friendly eatery on the front porch of Ocean City’s Breakers Hotel. Recognizing the appeal of a casual yet inviting atmosphere for visitors, he established the first Dough Roller, laying the groundwork for what would become an Ocean City institution. The restaurant even briefly had a location right here in Montgomery County.

The Rockville Mayor and Council, along with the city’s Environment Commission, presented Environmental Excellence Awards in June to honor local contributions to sustainability. Dawn Samen was recognized for her long-term litter cleanup efforts in Twinbrook, while Ingleside at King Farm was honored for its composting program and environmentally friendly dining practices.

Dolan Uyghur Restaurant, a renowned establishment with locations in DC and Virginia, is set to expand Maryland this summer. This restaurant is celebrated for its authentic and healthy Uyghur cuisine, which is a unique culinary tradition from Central Asia. It will be located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville (The Square at Rockville), which has been home to Kung Fu Kitchen for the last year after a rebrand from Peter Chang.
