In 2023, the Washington Post ranked Steeze Burger as the #1 burger in the DMV. Laytonsville resident Hunter Karametos, founder of Steeze Burger, launched the pop-up burger business in 2022 after spending nearly a year sampling over 150 different burgers for research. Currently, he’s enjoying one burger a day throughout May (National Burger Month) and shares a few words about three of his favorite local burgers below:

Westfield Montgomery has announced that Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, a New York-based, Michelin-recommended restaurant, will bring its Shanghainese dim sum and Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine to the mall’s dining terrace in the space previously occupied by Urban Plates, next to Shake Shack . (more…)


Last summer, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood sought approval to build a 10,000 SF restaurant at 151 Lakelands Drive, at the corner of Lakelands Drive and Great Seneca Highway in Gaithersburg– what would be Eddie V’s first Maryland location. The proposal was met with mixed emotions, sparking opposition from many Lakelands residents and prompting a petition that garnered over 100 signatures in the days following the news.

Chrys Kefalas, a former Maryland U.S. Senate candidate, is set to open Yala (“Yala” is the Greek word for “milk”) at what could be the nation’s first authentic Greek ice cream shop this summer in Georgetown.
