Pura Vida Miami, which has emerged as a prominent wellness-driven café chain, is planning to open its first Maryland location. According to The Burn, Pura Vida will be opening its first DC-area location in Fairfax, VA, with its first Maryland location coning to Potomac’s Cabin John Village shopping center.
During our Ocean City vacations, we often visit Dumser’s Dairyland for a frozen treat (pictured you’ll see cherry-dipped soft serve from earlier this week). The beloved Maryland institution has deep roots in Ocean City that began in 1939 when Mrs. Gladys Dumser started crafting and selling her delicious homemade ice cream on the boardwalk. Her commitment to quality and freshness paved the way for a legacy that has grown over the decades.

If you walked through Rio in Gaithersburg between 2000 and 2016, you likely saw George Petridis working on one of his beautiful paintings, with many of his other works on display in the atrium just outside the movie theater. For more than 15 years, Petridis showcased his art and continually crafted new pieces, often interacting with those who stopped to appreciate his work amid the bustle of the Rio crowd.
In August, we let you know that Koi Sushi will be taking the vacant space at 201 Boardwalk Place between Chipotle and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront. Construction is underway and the restaurant should open later this year. (more…)
As our trip to Ocean City continues, we stopped by Seaside Deli to check out its viral subs that have been capturing attention recently. Social media buzz and word-of-mouth have led to long lines at the deli, located at 7027 Coastal Highway in Ocean City, MD (photos below).

After years of visits and savoring countless slices from different restaurants at every hour, we believe Trattoria Lombardi’s offers Ocean City’s best pizza– or at least, our favorite. The restaurant is located between 92nd and 93rd Streets (but known as Lombardi’s 94th St.) on Coastal Highway in Ocean City, Maryland, has been a staple for Italian cuisine and pizza since 1962.
