Back in October, we shared that Trader Joe’s would be opening at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square, taking over the former Dawson’s Market space, which closed last summer after twelve years. Recently, Rockville Mayor Monique Ashton posted a photo of the grocery store nearly completed, and an employee from a nearby location indicated that a mid-June opening is possible.
Chateau is set to open its doors for a soft opening starting Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 1701 Rockville Pike in the Shops at Congressional Village shopping center from 7am until 10pm.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating the death of a 49-year-old Gaithersburg man following an assault at the Silver Diner on Rockville Pike late on May 21, and are asking witnesses to come forward as the medical examiner works to determine the cause of death.
