K2 Cafe is expanding. The popular Poolesville-based cafe will open a second location at the Clarksburg Market, located at 23335 Frederick Road in Clarksburg, bringing its Himalayan-inspired bowls, wraps, and specialty drinks to another Montgomery County community. Caspian House of Kabob, located at 72 Market St. in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, has permanently closed.
If you’re looking to dine out on Christmas Day, dozens of Montgomery County restaurants will be open across the county, offering everything from breakfast and bagels to late-night dining and full holiday meals. Joy By Seven Reasons will close its Chevy Chase location, ending its run after a little more than three years in Montgomery County. A representative from the restaurant confirmed that the final day of service will be Sunday, December 21, during a phone call on Friday afternoon.

Maman Joon is officially open today, Dec. 18, at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda after a brief delay caused them to open one day later than anticipated. The fast-casual Persian restaurant has taken over the space previously occupied by Brio’s Chicken, and before that, Tara Thai, bringing its home-style kabobs and family recipes to one of the county’s busiest shopping destinations.
