Cafe K will hold its grand opening at 1300 Spring Street, Suite 136, in Silver Spring on Monday, July 14th, according to a social media post by the cafe on Wednesday night.
The Dough Roller’s story began in 1980, when founder Bill Gibbs envisioned a family-friendly eatery on the front porch of Ocean City’s Breakers Hotel. Recognizing the appeal of a casual yet inviting atmosphere for visitors, he established the first Dough Roller, laying the groundwork for what would become an Ocean City institution. The restaurant even briefly had a location right here in Montgomery County.
Piccoli Piatti is holding its soft opening on Wednesday, July 9th at Westbard Square (5306 Zenith Overlook, Bethesda, MD). Lunch will take place from 12pm-1pm and dinner will be from 6pm-7pm, with one free meal per person being offered (appetizers and drinks not included), per its social media post.

Dolan Uyghur Restaurant, a renowned establishment with locations in DC and Virginia, is set to expand Maryland this summer. This restaurant is celebrated for its authentic and healthy Uyghur cuisine, which is a unique culinary tradition from Central Asia. It will be located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville (The Square at Rockville), which has been home to Kung Fu Kitchen for the last year after a rebrand from Peter Chang.
Pines of Rome Express, the carry-out and delivery focused offshoot of the beloved Bethesda Italian restaurant, has ceased operations at its 121B Congressional Lane location in Rockville after less than two years in business.
