Hyatt Commercial has announced that popular Canadian restaurant brand Tim Hortons, a leading international coffeehouse and quick-service restaurant chain, is seeking to expand into Maryland, with ten new locations planned for Howard and Carroll Counties.

Phowheels is now open at 15707 Old Columbia Pike in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center (currently in a soft opening phase until Friday, April 18th). It’s the DMV and Maryland’s first drive-thru Vietnamese restaurant, though indoor seating is also available. Our very own Mr. MoCo stopped by to give you a first look at the restaurant (video below).
A Waterfront Italian Gem in Ocean City, MD, TOAST can be found on the second floor of the Emerson Tower (221 Wicomico Street, Unit 202, Ocean City, MD 21842). The casual eatery serves up New York-style pizza and a variety of Italian dishes. With its waterfront location and a tiki bar, Toast offers scenic views of the Isle of Wight Bay, but also has a 24 inch “SUPERSLICE” that comes with a little bit of fun.
Cuppa Tea has announced its upcoming soft opening in the space that was previously home to Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike. Tea-Do X Mochinut closed permanently last October. The dual concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe.
Falafel Inc is now open at 11802 Rockville Pike, Suite G, in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose– taking over the space previously occupied by Kung Fu Tea and Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt.
Beloved DC restaurant, Sticky Rice DC, has announced it will close its doors permanently after 17 years. The restaurant attributes the closing to the “pandemic, decreased foot traffic, rising food labor costs, labor costs, and the impact of Initiative 82.”
Tuan Vo is the proud owner of Phowheels, a unique Vietnamese culinary venture. Raised in Montgomery County, he attended White Oak Middle School and Springbrook High School, and currently resides in Burtonsville. Phowheels has announced that the DMV’s first drive-thru Vietnamese restaurant will open at Burtonsville Crossing on Friday, April 18th (it will also feature the option to dine-in).
Häagen-Dazs is now open at 211 Market St W in Gaithersburg. The ice cream shop is located in the space previously occupied by Bel Pre Family Dental in Kentlands, though permanent signage is not up yet as of Tuesday evening.
