Update: Olney Winery announced a permanent closure on Friday, December 13th.
Olney Winery, located at 52 Olney Sandy Spring Rd. in Ashton, has closed until further notice according to a social media post shared late last week.
Last December we let you know that Nash & Smash, a restaurant that serves Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, smash burgers, and more, is coming soon to MoCo. Construction began this spring and permanent signage went up in the early summer, but there has been much heard about its opening…until now.

After a temporary closure of the Woodley Gardens shopping center in Rockville that lasted for more than a week, Carmen’s Italian Ice announced via social media that the plumbing repair work just passed inspection. Carmen’s will open at 2pm today, Z&Z Manoushe Bakery will open tomorrow (Thursday), and we have not heard from Hard Times or Shanghai Taste about a reopening date, though we would assume Thursday or Friday. The parking lot is still “a mess” according to business owners.

Back in May we let you know that Classic Bakery will be opening a new location at 18195 Village Center Dr. in Olney- the bakery’s third overall, adding to Gaithersburg and Tyson’s Corner. It will be taking over the space that was recently home to Cold Stone, which is moving within the shopping center. Classic Bakery tells us they hope to open mid to late quarter 1 (2025) with a tentative target date of March 1st that’s subject to change.
