The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with The Peterson Companies and Rio, will host the 24th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Rio on Saturday, March 14.
J.Crew Factory is expanding in Montgomery County, with a new location planned for Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront. Signage is expected to go up next week, but an opening timeframe is not yet available

The parade will step off at 10am along Grand Corner Avenue, with free parking available in three garages along Washingtonian Boulevard on Saturday, March 14th.

After more than a decade, the Bluemercury location at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg has closed its doors permanently. The store originally opened in September 2015. The space has been listed as available in leasing documents for several months. (more…)
Koi Sushi is now open at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg (201 Boardwalk Place), bringing a contemporary Japanese dining concept to one of Montgomery County’s busiest mixed-use destinations. We first reported in August 2024 that the restaurant had signed on for the development, and the space is now welcoming diners. Preview video below.

Light Up the Lakefront is back at Rio in Gaithersburg this Saturday, December 6, bringing one of the area’s most popular holiday traditions to the waterfront. HOT 99.5’s Intern John, and The MoCoShow’s own “Mr. MoCo,” Alex Tsironis, will once again take the stage to host the event from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. The free celebration promises an evening packed with lights, music, entertainment, and a fireworks finale over the lake (video of last year’s event below).
