Have you received unsolicited mobile text messages with an unfamiliar or strange web link that indicates a USPS delivery requires a response from you?  If you never signed up for a USPS tracking request for a specific package, then don’t click the link! The Takoma Park Police Department and other agencies across Maryland warn that this type of text message is a scam called smishing.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. to present details and gather input on the proposed Good Hope Road Shared-Use Path Extension Project in Silver Spring, which includes an 8-foot-wide path extending approximately 900 feet.

Torrey Damien Moore, 34, of Silver Spring, was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court to three consecutive life terms and an additional 80 years in prison following two separate murder convictions. He was found guilty in the 2022 shooting deaths of a gas station employee and his pregnant girlfriend, marking the County’s first conviction for the murder of a viable fetus. (more…)
