Alert Montgomery sent out a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ at 2:48pm regarding a traffic incident that closes three right lanes of northbound I-270 prior to I-370. The alert advises to expect significant delays and seek alternate route.

9:02am Update: All lanes of southbound I-270 prior to Watkins Mill Rd have reopened. Expect residual delays.
A significant traffic incident occurred on southbound Interstate 270 between Watkins Mill Road and Montgomery Village Avenue early this morning. At approximately 6:57am, Pete Piringer, the Chief spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), reported a collision involving five vehicles.
Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle rollover crash that occurred Saturday on I-495 between Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road in Silver Spring. (more…)
