Roberto Clemente Middle School (RCMS) in Germantown hosted its first-ever Fiesta Latina on Tuesday, October 8th, and by all accounts, the event was a huge success. The all-day celebration brought together students, staff, and community members to honor Hispanic Heritage Month with music, learning, and schoolwide excitement.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Friday morning to a rollover collision at Germantown Road and Seneca Meadows Parkway.

According to Chief Spokespersok for MCFRS Pete Piringer, four patients were evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries, and some lanes were temporarily blocked.


In a moment of pop culture triumph, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Montgomery County-grown artist Rei Ami delivered the first full television performance of “Golden” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (video below).

It was a sad day in September 1990 when the last of the artist residents said goodbye to their commune home on Frederick Road in Germantown. They left behind their gardens, their lap swimming pool, their treehouse with the triple-chair zipline, their annual masquerade balls; and they took with them their art, their music and their joie de vivre. But the house, the magnificent 125 year-old house with its wrap-around porch and huge fireplace, was not to be torn down– it would be reborn in another location.


The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) 5th District (Germantown) Commander reports that a supervisor observed a Dodge Durango being driven recklessly on Sunday, September 28. After conducting a traffic stop, officers determined the vehicle had been stolen. (more…)
