Earlier today, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich released his recommended Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Operating Budget of $7.1 billion, an increase of 4.9 percent from the FY24. The Montgomery County teacher’s union, Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA), has issued a statement in response to the budget, expressing disappointment.

31 years ago we were digging out from the 1993 Storm of the Century. Over 6″+ of snow fell across the Baltimore & Washington DC metros with up to 3 ft of snow in the Alleghenies (over a foot for most of Montgomery County).
More than 350 students from 35 MCPS middle schools and five high schools took part in the Montgomery County History Day competition last week at A. Mario Loiederman Middle School. More than 120 people volunteered as judges to interview and score the students’ projects.
Ready Montgomery has issued an Air Quality Alert due to “a large fire at a quarry in Travilah is spreading smoke across the region and may cause unhealthy levels of air quality.” Residents are advised to take precautions.
