Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Isabella Faith Cardillo, a missing 12-year-old from Germantown. Cardilloesd last seen on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at approximately 11:50 a.m., in the 15000 block of Broschart Road in Rockville. She is 4-feet, 10-inches tall, 107 Ibs., with red hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing glasses, a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Isabella Faith Cardillo is asked to call Montgomery County Police Non-Emergency (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line).


North Bethesda

With the official opening of the 915 Meeting Street office building and the recent news that a new steakhouse by the owners of CAVA, Bouboulina,  will open on the building’s street level in summer 2024, Federal Realty announces Upper Muse, its newest neighborhood enhancement at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. Construction will begin in January 2024 and will be complete in May 2024.

Per the press release: Upper Muse, an approximately 5,000-square-foot courtyard will be located on Meeting Street, in front of the entrance of 915 Meeting, and will be a place to gather and work. It will feature seating with tables and chairs to dine and/or work, and will be surrounded by lush, native landscaping, as well as lighting. The courtyard will connect patrons through an archway from 915 Meeting to the Owen’s Ordinary and Kusshi Sushi patio located across Trade Street.

Are the Festival of Lights events free? All of the Festival of Lights events and displays at the Washington D.C. Temple are free of charge. The performances require you to reserve free tickets in advance. Ticket holders are asked to be in their seats no later than 15 minutes prior to the performance. After this time, the standby line will be admitted to fill in any remaining seats.

According to Montgomery County Police, “On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at approximately 11:05 a.m., MCP officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 9800 block of Falls Rd. for the report of an armed bank robbery. The preliminary investigation has revealed that an armed suspect entered the bank, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene. This is an active and ongoing investigation.”

Rockville

Per the City of Rockville: “The ceremony is planned for Veterans Park, at the intersection of MD 28 and Rockville Pike. Free parking will be available at Sandy Spring Bank, 611 Rockville Pike. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will include a wreath laying and a presentation of colors. A reception will follow at American Legion Post 86, at 2013 Veirs Mill Road.

Paul Hughes, a retired Army colonel, will be the guest speaker. Hughes, an active-duty Army officer from 1975-2005 with the 8th Infantry Division (Mechanized) and the 9th Infantry Division, served as director of national security policy on the Army staff from 2000-2002, developing and providing policy guidance on arms control, weapons of mass destruction, missile defense, emerging nontraditional security issues and crisis prediction. From 1996-2000, he served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he led the Department of Defense effort to craft U.S. landmine policy and the department’s response to several international humanitarian crises. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, and of the Iraq War. He recently retired from the United States Institute of Peace as its director of overseas safety and security, and as a special advisor.


Gaithersburg

Per Montgomery County: “The newly-established Airpark Community Advisory Committee (ACAC) is now accepting applications to serve. The ACAC, established earlier this year after the Montgomery County Council unanimously passed Bill 24-23, will serve as a forum for neighbors of the Montgomery County Airpark (MCA), airpark users and other key stakeholders to address facility operations as well as noise and safety impacts.

The MCA, a public general aviation airport in Gaithersburg, is home to approximately 67,195 flight operations each year. In 2019, the MCA partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration to set up an online portal for residents to submit aircraft noise complaints, similar to what’s offered in other communities near airports. In 2019, there were 27 complaints, in 2020 there were 191 complaints made from 11 unique households, and in 2021 there were 2,835 complaints made from 35 unique households, according to a 2022 report from the Council’s Office of Legislative Oversight.
