Join Us for StoryBox Comics Fair, a two-day festival celebrating local and independent comics authors!

Day 1 – Saturday, June 27th, 11-5pm @ DwightMess compound (805 Silver Spring Ave): Events are open to the public, admission is FREE. Featuring Special Guest Artists, gallery exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, a modeling session (suggested donation) and exhibitors, you can dig in to indie comics and also tour the compound, which features an extensive comics collection, a rare video collection, Risograph and screenprinting studios.

Maryland’s crab cake reputation stretches from the Eastern Shore to Baltimore, Annapolis, and beyond. National publication Mashed recently released a list highlighting standout crab cake destinations across the state, based on personal visits, frequent mentions on food forums, customer reviews, and recognition from area publications.

It’s rare to still be connected to your high school 50 years later; more so to come back after nearly 70 years and be able to see your legacy in fruition. On Wednesday, Dec. 3, the first SGA president in WJ history, Bill Hiatt Jr, class of 1958, returned to his alma mater.

Maryland’s six casinos generated $159.8 million in slot machine and table game revenue in December 2025, down 2.6% from December 2024, with $67.9 million contributed to the state, including $49.0 million for the Education Trust Fund.
