It has been less than a year since White’s Ferry announced it would be ceasing operations immediately on December 28th, 2020. Since then, the ferry has been purchased and the dispute that caused it to close remains unresolved. Below, we’ve created a timeline with information about White’s Ferry and how the scenario has unfolded thus far:

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing adult male.
On November 26, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Oren Moshe Peter, age 23, was last seen leaving his residence in the 5700 block of Kingswood Road in Bethesda. He was driving a Gray 2007 Honda Pilot bearing Maryland Tag 45096CA.

Charles Moose, who served as Chief of Police for Montgomery County from 1999-2003, passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving, according to his wife Sandy Moose.
Moose was Chief of Police during the 2002 sniper attacks and investigation.

There is currently a large police presence in front of the Giant at 20944 Frederick Rd in Germantown after a pedestrian was struck in the parking lot around 6pm Wednesday evening.

Montgomery Planning has released the Pike District Streetscape Guidelines as a part of the Advancing the Pike District project. The recommendations in the document will be used to guide the transformation within the White Flint Special Taxing District by providing recommendations for the design of all public and private streets. The guidelines are based on an existing conditions analysis, stakeholder feedback and current best practices for creating safe and attractive streets with multimodal connectivity.
