Named in honor of former Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission chairman Dr. Royce Hanson, the park stands as a tribute to his leadership in preserving Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve and advancing smart growth policies that protected farmland and open space.
The Shoppers Food store in Germantown, located at 18066 Mateny Road, has closed permanently as of Saturday, November 1. The Germantown location was one of four Maryland stores set to close by November 8, along with locations in College Park, Laurel, and Capitol Heights.
