Amigos Mexican Grill announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with the City of Laurel and will reopen Friday, May 15, following a temporary closure tied to multiple violent incidents during a Cinco de Mayo celebration earlier this month.

Join us in celebrating the groundbreaking of construction for the Lightbridge Academy, an early childhood education center dedicated to supporting working families. Offering daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and summer camps, Lightbridge brings its Circle of Care philosophy to the community, combining a strong academic foundation with a focus on social and emotional growth in a safe, supportive environment.

Lightbridge Academy Gaithersburg will be opening in the Walnut Hill Plaza, Gaithersburg in early 2027. This event will take place in the lower parking lot. Maryland

County Executive Marc Elrich condemned recent remarks made by Maryland Delegates Mark Fisher and Brian Chisholm toward Delegate Chao Wu, calling the comments “garbage” and accusing the lawmakers of unfairly questioning Wu’s loyalty because of his background and accent.

Montgomery Planning

The Montgomery County Planning Department is conducting a survey specifically for people who work in-person in Montgomery County at least most of the time but live outside the County. Officials noted the survey does not apply to individuals who only attend school or use services in Montgomery County.
