The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a non-contact shooting on Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery Village.

Last week, the company celebrated a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Clarksburg, Maryland.
Over the past year, TDSI also doubled its manufacturing floor footprint through a $4 million investment, expanding production capacity to support the company’s continued growth.
Today, TDSI employs approximately 675 people in Montgomery County, including roughly 250 manufacturing employees.
As demand for its technologies continues to grow, the company continues to expand and has added more than 225 positions locally over the past three years.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host its annual Bicycle Donation Drive on Friday, Oct. 3, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Rockville to collect previously owned bikes, which will be refurbished and distributed to residents through the County’s Bike Match Program, Terrific Kids, and other partners. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced that detectives from the Financial Crimes Section arrested 45-year-old Erica Hopper of Washington, DC, for allegedly exploiting her 95-year-old grandfather’s finances while serving as his Power of Attorney.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies, with assistance from Anne Arundel County Police, arrested a suspect in Anne Arundel County on a probation violation warrant related to a domestic violence case. (more…)
Italian Kitchen, the family-owned restaurant that has served the Silver Spring community for the last ten years, has permanently closed its doors. While no official announcement has been made, its status has been updated to “permanently closed” on Google and other online platforms.
Deep End, a darkly comedic and socially charged indie series by D.C. playwright John Becker, is now streaming nationwide on Fawesome TV. The show has also been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County for its artistic excellence and community impact.
Montgomery County will celebrate its 17th annual African Heritage Month Proclamation Celebration on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 6:00pm at the Silver Spring Civic Center. The event, organized by the County’s African Affairs Advisory Group, is free and open to the public, welcoming all community members to take part in the festivities.
