For more than six decades, TDSI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thales U.S.A, has supported critical national security missions, delivering advanced communications, intelligence, surveillance, and defense technologies to military and government customers around the world.
Last week, the company celebrated a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Clarksburg, Maryland.
Over the past year, TDSI also doubled its manufacturing floor footprint through a $4 million investment, expanding production capacity to support the company’s continued growth.
Today, TDSI employs approximately 675 people in Montgomery County, including roughly 250 manufacturing employees.
As demand for its technologies continues to grow, the company continues to expand and has added more than 225 positions locally over the past three years.

J&J Mex-Taqueria first opened in DC about a decade ago. The restaurant has since opened additional locations and is currently in a soft opening phase at Commas Food Hall in Ellsworth Place Mall (8661 Colesville Rd. Silver Spring, MD). While J&J operated at nearby Solaire Social (that stall is now known as Ay Mamma), diners shared that the J&J Supreme burrito is the “best burrito in Maryland and DC”– a distinction that was echoed by fellow stall operators at Solaire.

The City of Rockville is poised for a significant enhancement to one of its recreational spaces, thanks to Maryland’s Community Parks and Playgrounds program. The Montgomery County Council will meet on June 24 to vote on a Planning Board appointment and a zoning measure related to the Bethesda Overlay Zone, and will also receive a semi-annual update from the Department of Health and Human Services.
Governor Wes Moore issued a State of Preparedness on Monday, June 23, in response to a forecasted heat wave with dangerously high temperatures across Maryland, directing state agencies to coordinate efforts and urging residents to take precautions to protect themselves and vulnerable populations.
