Publishers Clearing House (PCH) is a legitimate sweepstakes, but there are many scams that use the PCH name and logo to take your money. The Takoma Park Police Department has received information that two residents (one who was targeted twice) have been contacted by phone by an unknown person purporting to be from Publishers Clearing House (PCH).

Montgomery Planning

Update revises street types to conform to Montgomery County’s new “complete street” street types and makes recommendations on unbuilt sections of Midcounty Highway Extended

The Montgomery County Planning Board has approved the Planning Board Draft of Montgomery Planning‘s technical update to the Master Plan of Highways and Transitways(MPOHT) at its meeting on April 10, 2025. The draft plan will now be sent to the Montgomery County Council for review and approval.


Education

MCPS has announced that the Montgomery County Board of Education has named three student finalists for its Student Service Award. The finalists are: German Diaz-Peña, a senior at Rockville High School, Samantha (Sam) Ross, a senior at Montgomery Blair High School, and Kylie Zhang, a sophomore at Poolesville High School.

On Thursday, Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown joined a coalition of attorneys general and the Governor of Pennsylvania in suing the U.S. Department of Education over its decision to end states’ access to certain COVID-19 relief education funds, arguing the move was abrupt, harmful, and contrary to previous guidance.
